About this stay in Ramnagar, Dist. Nainital
The Ranger’s Lodge is a boutique homestay located on the southern wild periphery of Corbett Tiger Reserve, the oldest & the first in Asia. Established by a forester/naturalist post attaining topical degrees in wildlife management, ecology, biology & human interspersion in wildlife conservation for the sole purpose of sustainable wildlife tourism as the best tiger conservation tool in a developing & democratic country where the abstract values of nature are overshadowed by the physical uncontrolled development. The owner/naturalist plans the complete itinerary with the prospective guests with jungle safaris, landscape photography, rural tourism besides cultural safaris to forest villages. One can experience the sights & sounds of wilderness from the rooms as well as wrap-around verandas. A monsoonal stream flows next to the lodge while an irrigation canal off the kosi river flows in the back of the lodge. The lodge is surrounded by the forests on the three sides while a minor human settlement of 30 households exists on the western side. The forests around offer excellent birding opportunities with more than 150 spp in a day just within 1km radius from the lodge. Possibly, the best abode for nature & wildlife enthusiasts. Imran khan is a passionate conservationist with more than three decades of experience working in different tiger reserves of the country.
