It's at the edge of village Diyara on the outskirts of a forest. The nearest house is 100-m away. Located on 1400 sm farmland with vegetable plantations and fruit trees, Vayu Kutir is perched on high ground overlooking river Beas & Pong reservoir with the Dhauladhar range as backdrop. The property has two Koi ponds - large and medium - and a mini pond with small river fish. There is an easy hiking trail through the surrounding jungle which starts from the cottage. A second hiking trail that starts from the cottage takes you along the banks of river Beas. In both cases you get to see a lot of birds. Essentials, such as groceries and fresh vegetables, are available at multiple outlets within 4 kms. There are several dhabas within the same distance. Amazon delivery is available. Three famous temples - Jwala ji, Chintpurni, and Baglamukhi are between 25 to 35 min drive by car. Heritage villages Pragpur and Garli are 6 & 8 km respectively. Kangra fort is around 50 min drive. Masroor rock cut temple is around 1 hr 15 min drive. Hill stations Dharamshala & Palampur are 2 hr & 2 1/2 hr drive respectively. Jamble Bassi, Dada Sibba & Nagrota Surian - excellent viewing spots for winter migratory birds - are between 30 mins to 1 hr drive. Our guests can make day trips to the above destinations and return to the comfort and warm hospitality of Vayu Kutir at night, thus avoiding the hassles of booking hotel accommodation at multiple destinations. The adjacent forest is known to have Deers, Wild boars, Jackals, Foxes, Porcupines, Civets, Mongoose, Monitor Lizard. Guests are required to exercise caution near the forest area.
